An automation script is code written to automate repetitive tasks or processes. Automation scripts help you save time and labor by performing click-intensive tasks based on predefined conditions. They output the work that will take you hours to do, in just seconds.
While tools like Zapier are very useful, they’re not tailored for your business specifically. If the automation needed is simple and straightforward, you most likely can use Zapier. If you want customized automation scripts, though, you’ll need custom code.
We can write automation scripts for the apps and services you already use. They are almost always written in JavaScript – the language Google Ads scripts and Apps Script uses. While anything more advanced we’ll still use JavaScript, using the node.js runtime. We will occasionally use Python, which has a few specific use cases.
For anything data related, like BigQuery, a lot of work can be done in SQL – although this wouldn’t technically count as a script.
